Must-Have Items for a Day at the Pond

Summer days are filled with trips to the beach and long blissful days in the sun. But as the season starts to wind down and fall starts to near, not everyone is ready to give up that fun in the water. Finding a local pond can be a great way to extend those beach-like days with a different twist. Although it might not always be warm enough for swimming, there are lots of ways to have fun at the pond with your kids if you have the right supplies.

Finding the right food for camping can be tricky. The ideal recipe really depends on how much space you have to store food and if you’ll have access to a refrigerator or a cooler with ice.

You’ll want to do some food prep beforehand—chopping vegetables, preparing and storing salads in storage containers or mixing marinades for meats—so they’ll be ready to use when needed. Since my kids are always hungry and always on the go, I like to make easy, portable snacks ahead of time, too.

No matter what you prep or plan for meals, it’s guaranteed to be delicious, because everything is better when you’re camping.

Full-Body Conditioning Exercises for Kids

Soccer, basketball, football, tennis, dance, field hockey, swimming, lacrosse, gymnastics–the world of sports is wide open for kids. To help keep your kid in shape for any season, full-body exercises are the way to go. These conditioning moves help build endurance, balance, agility and coordination while strengthening the whole body.

Whether your kid is into sports or just being a kid, these full-body conditioning exercises will have them ready for the game or the playground. All of these exercises can be done anywhere, anytime with zero equipment.

Be a Team Player
Ask your child what activity he or she would like to learn and then sign them up. Some children enjoy competitive team sports including T-ball, softball, football, tennis, basketball, hockey or even Frisbee. Other children are more comfortable with non-competitive activities such as dancing, ice or roller skating, swimming, gymnastics or even yoga for kids.
Take a Class
Kids enjoy exercise classes for the same reasons adults do: the camaraderie of friends and the fun of following an instructor. Exercise classes for kids are wonderful ways for children to be exposed to both fitness and dance at once in a happy, non-competitive environment.
Neighborhood Fun
Encourage your children to play outdoors with kids who live nearby. A basic game of tag requires no equipment. In warm weather, let your children and their friends run through your sprinklers.
